VIA FRANCIGENA | Day 65
Marina di Messa to Camaiore, 22 km
I woke up to one of the best buffet breakfasts of the trip. I may have overdone it a bit, just saying. I left the hotel and trailed the Mediterranean for the next 10 km before saying my goodbyes and heading back inland.
Who’s ready for the Tuscan hills? Pietrasanta was full of life, with people out and about and great street art. Great combination if you ask, I loved it. I went for a tour of the church followed by a stamp and a blessing from the priest.
It was time for a quick bite to eat for lunch facing the main square with a great show.
Left the town and headed over a hill. back to the countryside, it was, with overgrown paths and the too-familiar farm life. What can you do but smile?
Thanks to Marion and John’s donation I stayed at Ostello di Pellegrino on the outskirts of town. Great facilities with everything you may want or need.
We bought supplies at the market and made the most delicious dinner. a beefed up salad with boiled eggs, and wine, of course. A fella could get used to this.
